JOHN DADDONA Chairman Tiny Tot Sports Inc. John Daddona, a highly motivated, successful entrepreneur since 1970, created Tiny Tot Sports Inc. in December 2002. While searching for gifts for his grandchildren, Daddona noticed the video market serving children aged infant through six was full of selections on art, music, monster trucks and construction crews. But he couldn’t find a single video introducing toddlers to sports. He immediately created Tiny Tot Sports and began developing the company’s first product, “Baby Baseball.” His goal and the goal of Tiny Tot Sports is to introduce toddlers playfully to the benefits of sports, including teamwork, sharing, the development of gross-motor and inter-social skills, and the advantages of exercise. Under Daddona’s leadership, “Baby Baseball,” a 30-minute video introducing toddlers to the game of baseball, using nine characters as well as images of colorful equipment and 30 young children, was created, written, produced, edited and brought to the marketplace in less than six months. Daddona is currently developing several other videos, including “Baby Basketball,” “Baby Soccer,” and “Baby Football,” as well as securing publishing and retail partnerships for the series of videos. Daddona is no stranger to building successful enterprises. Prior to the creation of Tiny Tot Sports, he was Chairman of PayVision Ltd., and Rainbow Cable Vision Ltd., the first cable television companies in the countries of Turks and Caicos, Trinidad and Tobago, from 1982 to 2000. From 1988 to 2001, he was an owner of Shepherd Hills Country Club in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Under his direction, the country club expanded its annual rounds of golf from 14,000 to more than 37,000 in just three years. From 1973 to 1993, he developed, expanded and chaired one of the largest underground utility and excavation firms on the East Coast, employing 350 people and spanning five states. More important to Daddona has been his time spent during his sons’ youth actively participating in their community sports programs. He coached youth baseball and football, winning several championships and receiving numerous accolades as a volunteer. In 1985 he was named Volunteer of the Year in his hometown of Salisbury Township, and he received the Tommy Lasorda Volunteer of The Year award from Limeport Athletic Association. In 1990, the City of Allentown’s Sen. John Van Sandt named him Volunteer of the Year as well. Daddona and his wife, Judy, who helped create the “Baby Baseball” characters, live in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. They have two children and six grandchildren. |
